Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Service Technician to join our Flooring and Facilities Solutions Division. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools, ensuring safety and professionalism in every task.

As part of our team, you'll enhance your skills and receive support for career development in higher-level technician roles. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles or equipment, or a trade school graduate.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.

As a Service Technician at United Rentals supporting our Flooring and Facilities Solutions Division, you will use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
