Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Have a good understanding of gas engine tune-up.
- Perform component repair.
- Conduct proper disassembly.
- Perform small engine repair.
- Be neat and organize work.
- Perform cylinder head overhaul.
- Be proficient in the use of measurement and test equipment.
- Ensure that all jobs worked on are completed and that the work was done in a proficient and safe manner.
- Clean the shop workspace utilized after every job is finished.
- Take advantage of any and all training offered by the company.
- Promote good welfare among the company and its divisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have 2 years of previous experience.
- Must have GED, High School Diploma, trade school, or special service training preferred.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Must have a working knowledge of the position and how it relates to the overall business and its objectives.
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
- Must conform to company policies and procedures.
- Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving a company vehicle (only if job requires).
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by the Department of Transportation (only if job requires).
- Must be computer literate, preferably in a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Must be dependable and able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds (only if job requires).
- Must be able to bend and twist several times a day.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days.
- Must maintain good client relations.
- Must maintain a professional appearance.
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
- Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight.
- Must possess troubleshooting skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment.
- Must have the ability to obtain advanced manufacturer certifications.
- Must protect the company assets and interests.
Working Conditions:
- Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary.
- Outside work as required.
