Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC!

Under the guidance of a supervisor or manager, the Underwriting Assistant’s primary responsibilities include providing service support for both the commercial and personal departments.

How You Will Contribute:
  1. Provide administrative support to all departments. Maintain spreadsheets for items such as employee directory, carrier commission changes, and employee license compliance.
  2. Direct incoming calls or voicemails to the appropriate party.
  3. Receive all mail and packages. Scan and distribute all incoming mail.
  4. Review and forward all incoming checks to lockbox or return to sender.
  5. Review and create tasks for items received in general email boxes.
  6. Process policies, endorsements, audits, notices, and other tasks for all Underwriting/Sales Teams. Handle urgent or missing policy and endorsement requests.
  7. Provide reports for policy renewals, invoice checklists, and others as needed. Assist Underwriting/Sales teams with issuing non-renewals/conditional renewals as per carrier guidelines.
  8. Assist with internal self-audits to ensure compliance with states, carriers, and Brown & Brown.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the office and Service Team Leaders.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Must acquire state property and casualty agent licenses within 90 days of hire.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
  • Minimum education required: High School diploma.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
