About the Role
Our Volvo dealership in Westlake is seeking a Service Advisor. This is a great opportunity to take your automotive career to the next level. In this position, you will contribute to the success of Rusnak Auto Group by providing all clients with comprehensive, value‑added, fair, and ethical automobile repair services while achieving individual strategic sales objectives.
Compensation
$60,000 - $100,000/year. Compensation will be based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities
- Schedules service appointments; prioritizes obtaining client and automobile data prior to arrival.
- Greets customers professionally, friendly, and obtains automobile information.
- Accurately documents automobile problems on the Repair Order (RO).
- Test drives the automobile with the client as needed or refers to appropriate Service Technician.
- Advices clients on proper care and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
- Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for all labor and parts.
- Recommends additional needed and value‑added service based on service history and inspection.
- Establishes "promised time" with client; coordinates with Dispatcher if required.
- Ensures each RO is signed by the client and that they receive a copy.
- Determines client’s preferred payment method; obtains credit approval if required.
- Notifies Dispatcher of incoming work immediately.
- Checks progress of repair throughout the day; contacts client about changes in promised time, explains costs and time requirements, and obtains proper authorization before additional repairs.
- Implements and maintains a service marketing program.
- Reviews and closes RO’s ensuring work is completed and any additional work and its corresponding authorization is noted.
- Ensures automobiles are parked in assigned areas, locked, and keys are marked and stored.
- Keeps service department forms, menus, and pricing guides up‑to‑date.
- Explains all completed work and charges thoroughly to each client.
- Maintains a quality control process to eliminate “comebacks.”
- Consistently meets or exceeds established Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
- Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress efficiently.
- Thoroughly inspects all automobiles for body work; informs client if work is needed and provides accurate estimate.
- Monitors RO sales and seeks opportunities to add value while increasing revenue.
- Writes appropriate share of work based on division among all Service Consultant/Advisor’s.
- Sells "time" at appropriate values per company and manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensures estimates are accurate and reflect added value for clients.
- Ensures company and service technicians are fairly compensated for all completed work.
- Promotes "value-delivered" rather than "discount offered" to facilitate a sale.
- Integrates personal experience, expertise, professionalism, and business strategy to achieve sales objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5+ years in a Service Advisor or similar position in the automotive industry; experience in a Tier One European brand Service Consultant role preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish or Mandarin Chinese or other language is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Current California driver license with a satisfactory DMV driving record.
