Job summary

Saladin Pump & Equipment in Beaumont, TX, is seeking a hands-on leader to run and improve the daily operations of our service shop. You will supervise technicians and machinists, troubleshoot difficult repairs, review tear-downs, and ensure work meets OEM standards with safety and quality at the forefront.

You’ll partner with RC, RE, SSS, and Sales Engineers to align repair scopes, parts, and timelines while coaching the team and maintaining credible technical leadership in a busy repair

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding industrial pumps.
• Familiarity with multiple pump types (centrifugal, ANSI/API, vertical turbine, split-case, positive displacement, air-operated diaphragm).
• Experience with rotating equipment such as gearboxes, blowers, mixers, and similar machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Manual machining experience (lathe, mill, boring mill, VTL) is a plus; knowledge of 480V three-phase motors is helpful.

Job description

The Role

This is a player-coach leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operation of our service and repair shop in Beaumont. You'll lead a team of technicians and machinists while helping troubleshoot difficult repairs, reviewing tear-downs, supporting rebuild work, and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM standards. The shop supports the repair and rebuild of industrial pumps, rotating equipment, and related components, along with in-house manual machining capabilities.

You'll be responsible for setting priorities, managing workflow, supporting the team, and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and execution. This is a hands-on leadership role – you need enough pump and rotating equipment experience to troubleshoot difficult jobs, coach mechanics, and maintain credibility with the shop.

This role works closely with our Repair Coordinators (RC), Repair Engineers (RE), Sales Support Specialists (SSS), and Sales Engineers, who handle much of the quoting, documentation, and administrative side of the business. Your focus is on leadership, coaching, repair execution, quality, and keeping the operation running smoothly.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Technical Background

• Strong hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding industrial pumps
• Familiarity with multiple pump types, including centrifugal, ANSI/API process pumps, vertical turbine, split-case, positive displacement, and air-operated diaphragm pumps
• Experience with rotating equipment such as gearboxes, blowers, mixers, and similar equipment
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and repair documentation
• Manual machining experience (lathe, mill, boring mill, VTL, etc.) is a plus, especially in a repair environment
• Basic understanding of electric motors is a plus, especially 480V three-phase

Leadership & Shop Operations

• Experience leading or supervising repair technicians and/or machinists
• Background in an OEM-authorized repair center, pump distributor, manufacturer, or industrial rotating equipment repair environment preferred
• Strong understanding of how a repair shop actually runs – scheduling, workflow, parts, execution, quality, and throughput
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities without losing control of quality or timelines
• Strong organization, follow-through, and decision-making
• Comfortable maintaining accountability while still being willing to get involved technically when the team needs support

Business & Customer Perspective

• Understands how service work impacts pricing, margins, and overall shop performance
• Comfortable working alongside internal teams on quoting, parts, purchasing, transportation/logistics, repair order management, and related activities
• Strong awareness of customer expectations in an industrial B2B environment
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams
