DRW in Chicago seeks a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to manage a large, hybrid container platform serving trading desks, data scientists, and enterprise apps. DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk.
Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets.

The Container Infrastructure team provides scalable on-premises and cloud-based container orchestration services for DRW's trading desks, data scientists, and enterprise application teams. Our goal is to enable teams to keep focused on their business goals by providing simple, scalable solutions with off the shelf tools and the right amount of focused engineering. We're looking to expand our Container Infrastructure team. In this role you work closely with other teams and trading desks to ensure the performance and reliability of our Kubernetes platform. The platform is large: hundreds of clusters, thousands of nodes, and dozens of components. Common day‑two tasks include development of new components, monitoring costs, and ensuring compute consumption for each desk is optimized. As a member of this team you will help administer the platform, engage with internal customers and infrastructure stakeholders to ensure the platform remains reliable, performant, and cost‑effective.
The annual base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000 depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set.
The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
