Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group in Reston, VA, is seeking a Service Project Manager to lead mechanical installation and service projects across the DMV area. You will manage tenant buildouts, retrofits, upfits, and renovations, coordinating with executives, superintendents, and clients to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires 5+ years as a PM in mechanical construction. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and drawing interpretation is essential.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

Join our dynamic team as a Service Project Manager and play a key role in managing mechanical installation and service projects from start to finish. This position will focus on projects such as tenant buildouts, retrofits, upfits, and renovations throughout the DMV area.

You will work closely with project executives, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to VMG's standards.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in mechanical construction, with experience managing smaller-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical installation processes.
• Experience managing tenant buildouts, retrofits, upfits, renovations, and service-related projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, commercial construction projects, and building systems.
• Experience with construction claims prevention and management.
• Ability to manage project schedules, deadlines, and budgets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with project executives, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and clients.
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with electrical and control systems related to the Plumbing trade is a plus.

Location & Travel

This position is based at our HQ in Reston, VA, with projects located throughout the DMV area. This role will require travel to local project sites as needed.

We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including base salary, financial and medical benefits, PTO, and a 401(k).

Salary: $80000 per year
