Job summary

Cornerstone Ford/Chrysler in Elk River, MN 55330 is seeking a Part Time Service Porter for the swing shift. This entry-level role requires no prior experience and includes on-the-job training.

You will greet customers, manage service traffic, record vehicle details, assist with rentals, and prepare vehicles for service. The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs and evening plus Saturday hours.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver's license
• Willing to submit and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Good working relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient and professional service
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to work evenings until 7pm and Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat attitude
• Control service traffic flow and parking
• Determine if customers have an appointment and record name, VIN, tag, mileage and damage
• Bag and tag vehicles and prepare rentals for customers
• Assist with rental forms and paperwork
• Check returned rentals for damage, fuel and mileage
• Maintain a clean, safe service drive area
• Move completed vehicles into the service drive
• Check the lot in the evening and pull emergency vehicles into the shop

Qualifications: Primary duties will consist of but not limited to:

• Greets all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat attitude, answering their questions and directing them to the appropriate person or location
• Controls Service traffic flow and parking
• Determines if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records the customers name, VIN, tag number, mileage and existing vehicle damage
• Bag and tag all vehicles (places bag of drivers seat, places mat on the floor and tags vehicle with a number)
• Helps customers fill out rental forms, makes a copy of license and insurance to include with the paperwork and prepares rentals for customers
• Handles returning rentals by checking vehicle for items that may have been left, check for damage, gas and mileage
• Maintains a clean and safe service drive area, free of dirt, water, leaves and snow
• Pulls completed vehicles into the service drive once the advisor has made contact
• Check the lot in the evening and pull all emergency vehicles into the shop (squad cards, ambulance, fire etc.)

Education and/or Experience:

• No experience necessary
• On the job training provided

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current, valid Drivers License with driving record that meets insurance company standards
• Willing to submit and the ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenExcellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Good working relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient and professional service
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves with the use of a stool or ladder when necessary
• Ability to work evenings until 7pm and Saturdays
