Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Service Porter in Houston to assist with vehicle write-ups, tagging, and preparation for customer delivery. You will inspect vehicles, ensure the lot is organized, and support parts and service staff as needed.

The role requires driving ability, a valid license, and strong customer service skills. It includes duties from vehicle deliveries to shop clean-up, contributing to a smooth dealership operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months of prior work experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tagging customer cars and trucks.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages before returning the vehicle to the customer, and report any damage immediately.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Keep vehicle lot neat and orderly and move units as directed and in accordance with dealership display standards.
• Return vehicle keys to the appropriate service consultant.
• Pick up vehicles from and deliver vehicles to storage; pick up parts from the Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in service drive.
• Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.
