Description

Job Summary:
The Service Porter at Crown Motors plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for our service customers. You will assist in managing the flow of vehicles through the service area, ensuring that vehicles are ready for service, pick-up, and delivery. Your responsibilities include vehicle movement, lot organization, and general support for the service team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction:
    • Greet customers warmly upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate service advisor.
    • Assist customers with vehicle drop-off and pick-up, creating a smooth and positive experience.
    • Provide prompt and friendly assistance as needed, answering basic questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Vehicle Handling and Movement:
    • Move vehicles to designated service bays and park them in assigned areas following dealership policies.
    • Retrieve vehicles for customer pick-up after service, ensuring they are ready and cleaned as needed.
    • Safely operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Lot Organization:
    • Maintain a clean and organized service lot, arranging vehicles in an orderly manner.
    • Regularly check the lot for any safety hazards and report them promptly to the service manager.
    • Ensure the lot is free of debris and that vehicles are parked in assigned spaces.
  • Support for Service Technicians:
    • Assist technicians by retrieving vehicles from the lot or moving vehicles within the service area as requested.
    • Deliver parts or tools to technicians when necessary, helping to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness and Presentation:
    • Ensure vehicles are clean and ready for customer pick-up, performing light cleaning or vacuuming if needed.
    • Monitor for any damage or issues with vehicles and report them immediately to the service advisor or manager.
    • Refuel vehicles as needed and ensure all necessary fluids are topped off.
  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Keep the service drive, waiting areas, and vehicle drop-off areas clean and organized.
    • Assist with snow and debris removal in the service drive and parking areas as needed.
    • Perform light janitorial tasks in the service area to maintain a clean environment for customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions:
This position requires outdoor work in the service drive area, often in all types of weather. The role may require weekend and holiday shifts based on the dealership’s schedule.
