CM3 Building Solutions is looking for a full-time Service Parts Associate in Fort Washington, MD. This role involves sourcing HVAC equipment and parts, maintaining effective solutions for a diverse range of customers, and building strong relationships with vendors. The position requires occasional heavy lifting and operates in a warehouse environment.

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Service Parts Associate

Summary/Objective: The Service Department Parts Specialist is an integral role responsible for the timely acquisition of HVAC equipment and part information, pricing, and availability from a number of direct and indirect HVAC/R and Building Automation Manufacturers, Distributors, Wholesalers, and Vendors.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain cost‑effective replacement part solutions for a wide range of customers including commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, and other facilities in the Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware area.
  • Research aged equipment to ensure proper part replacement.
  • Acquire operation and maintenance manuals and specification sheets for equipment.
  • Identify parts through field‑placed calls and calls from our Service Sales Account Executives.
  • Work with and maintain relationships with local vendors, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products and trends in the Building Controls and HVAC/R industry.
  • Quote parts directly to customers.
  • Purchase parts and equipment and ship directly to customer or field personnel.
  • Process equipment and part warranties and returns for credit.
  • Provide availability after hours and on weekends for emergency part acquisition (occasional).
  • Occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Accept delivery of materials and stage parts and equipment for upcoming projects.
  • Report delivery of parts to the Field Mechanical Foreman, Field Controls Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
  • Maintain stock of critical Building Automation Controls parts.
  • Maintain Service Department purchased tools, lifting equipment, and other field device tools owned by CM3.

Any additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Service Operations.

Required Knowledge / Background Experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with work‑order management software and purchase‑order systems.
  • Courteous phone manners and clear communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • HVAC/R business knowledge.
  • Prior part counter experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in a warehouse environment that may contain dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane and solvents; it may also involve driving company‑owned vehicles.

Physical Demands
  • Regularly use hands to handle, feel, reach and talk.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10‑50 lbs; occasionally lift objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.
  • Operation of forklift and stake‑body truck.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing and balancing.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

This job also requires the use of machines and hand tools necessary for warehouse work.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Travel

Travel required as needed for warehouse schedule and deliveries.

Required Education And Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Three or more years of previous warehouse or parts experience preferred.
  • Good communication, organizational, time‑management and mathematical skills.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Customer service.
  • Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • OSHA safety training.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

Criminal background check, PA child welfare clearance and FBI fingerprinting clearance required. DMV check.
