Deadline to submit Civil Service application and required documents is September 2, 2026 by 4:00 p.m.
Performs heavy manual labor digging ditches, cleaning and installing culverts; cutting brush; removing obstacles from roadways and adjacent areas; loads and unloads all types of materials; performs manual work connected with patching and repairing roadways; sands slippery or oily road surfaces; installs and repairs guardrails, fences, sign posts, and other materials as necessary; lays bricks; sets pipe, catch basins, manholes, and hydrants; lays water taps; performs all types of work related to streets, parks, sewer and water lines; other duties as required.
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of construction and road maintenance equipment; knowledge of state laws regarding the operation of motor vehicles and equipment on roads and highways; ability to perform specialized work and heavy manual labor.
Must be at least eighteen years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum lifting/physical exertion requirement of 50 pounds. Must possess a valid Ohio Commercial driver's license (CDL) or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Hourly rate for 2026 is $27.87. Wages based on CBA, Top Step hourly rate in 2026 is $34.46
