Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to perform repair, testing, and maintenance on complex digital and analog electronic components as well as electro-mechanical assemblies within robotic systems.

Under general supervision, you will use diagnostic software and test equipment to localize issues and ensure safe operation. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, performing repairs per work instructions, documenting findings, and contributing to failure analysis and quality

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; AA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes wiring diagrams, schematics, and drawings to conduct repair and testing of FRUs.
• Performs repair of complex electro-mechanical assemblies per applicable work instructions.
• Assists with failure analysis and final test of assemblies; documents findings.
• Participates in investigational teams for FRUs as needed.
• Communicates repair status with leads/supervisors and other departments.
• Provides detailed symptom descriptions to aid troubleshooting at component level.
• Conducts quality inspections to ensure workmanship standards are met.
• Follows GDP guidelines when documenting; initiates material requests.
• Logs transactions in SAP to preserve traceability.
• Follows all safety, SOP, DOP procedures and regulations.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
• Suggests process flow improvements to leads/supervisor/manager.
• Maintains excellent attendance.

Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Under general supervision, follows oral and/or written instructions in performance of a wide variety of skilled technical maintenance, repair, and testing on complex digital and analog electronic components, electrical and electro-mechanical components, cable assemblies, sub-assemblies, assemblies, field replaceable units (FRU) and systems to support a wide variety of Robotic Systems. Regularly use of diagnostic software for localizing equipment and system problems, specialized testing equipment, analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, clocks, timers, calipers, voltmeters, power supplies, rulers, and other test equipment as required.

Essential Job Duties

• Analyzes wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, mechanical component drawings to conduct repair and testing of FRUs
• Performs repair of complex electro-mechanical assemblies per applicable work Instructions Performs testing of complex electro-mechanical assemblies per applicable work Instructions
• Aids with failure analysis and Final Test of assemblies and properly documents findings.
• Participates in investigational teams for FRU's to provide input if required.
• Communicates status of repairs with leads/supervisors and other departments as necessary.
• Provides detailed symptom descriptions for failures uncovered during repair, functional test and calibration to assist in component-level troubleshooting.
• Conducts quality inspection of own or other's work to ensure workmanship standards are met.
• Adheres to GDP guidelines when completing all documentation Initiates material requests.
• Reports quality issues and provides details necessary to create quality notification (VR, PL) records transactions in SAP as needed to preserve traceability.
• Follows all corporate, safety, SOP, DOP procedures and regulations.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
• Communicates process flow recommendations to Leads/Supervisor/Manager or designee.
• Maintains an excellent attendance record.
