Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead daily operations of the dealership's service department in line with policy and program objectives. You will plan, direct, and control activities to drive growth and profitability while upholding high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities include setting objectives, coordinating with writers and supervisors, managing repair order timelines, and reporting on all service activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• College degree or trade school certificate required.
• Experience in a related field required.
• Must maintain a CDL Class A or B with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities.
• Set short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the service department.
• Direct and assist service writers and supervisors; maintain repair order close rate under 15 days and 5-day lag.
• Maintain records and reports on all service activities; lead weekly KPI, WIP, EFF, Productivity, and safety meetings.
• Coordinate with outside parts and service sales to maximize market penetration.
• Lead department to meet management’s goals and ensure tool purchases maximize efficiency.
• Ensure safety rules and company policies are followed at all times.
• Solicit new customers and maintain positive relations with existing customers; visit customers weekly.
• Monitor competition and market conditions; review competitive rates biannually.
• Keep leadership informed of pertinent service activities and warranty schedules.
• Oversee training programs; maintain high online training average and classroom success.
• Ensure building, vehicle maintenance, and security are kept in good condition.
• Responsible for all service personnel and related operations.

Education
