U.S. Engineering offers a 12-week Summer internship (May–August 2027) designed to provide hands-on experience in a service-based contracting environment. Interns will engage in service coordination, operational analysis, invoice reconciliation, and data review while networking with senior leaders.

As the CSST Intern, you’ll develop foundational skills in business process analysis, SOP documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, with guided projects increasing in scope and independence.

  • Support service coordinators and field teams by responding to operational needs, coordinating customer information, and troubleshooting workflow issues.

Job description

Our Summer internship program is a full-time, 12-week summer position from May through August 2027. As an intern, you’ll receive an exciting opportunity to acquire relevant work experience and work alongside our best and brightest. You will be paid competitively and get to network with our top leaders. Your experience will include orientation, job walks and a community service event, just to name a few.

As the CSST Intern, you will gain practical experience across key business operations within a service-based contracting environment. You will contribute to daily functions of service coordination, operational analysis, invoice reconciliation, and data review. Working alongside experienced team members, you will learn how financial operations and administrative workflows interconnect to drive customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Through guided projects that increase in scope and independence, you will develop foundational skills in business process analysis, documentation, operational problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Learn and gain knowledge from the Service side of Mechanical, TAB, HVAC, Controls, and Plumbing Contracting.
  • Collaborate with Field and the Central Support Services teams to ensure the timely scheduling and completion of service requests.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of service activities and customer interactions.
  • Learn to navigate and support the BuildOps platform and related workflows.
  • Support service coordinators and field teams by responding to operational needs, coordinating customer information, and troubleshooting workflow issues.
Process Analysis & Documentation:
  • Analyze operational workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in creating and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through process documentation and organizing step-by-step instructions.
  • Gather and synthesize process information from multiple team members to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support the review and refinement of existing documentation to maintain consistency and relevance
Education:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, business, or construction.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, business, or construction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Passion for the mechanical service industry.
Physical and/or travel demands:
  • No travel required.
  • Frequent sitting required – use of computer keyboard/monitor, telephone required. Occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting (e.g., file boxes).
  • Must work well under pressure of time constraints.
Benefits and Compensation:
  • The range for this position has been established at $18to $23 per hour and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
