Job summary

Magellan Federal seeks a seasoned Personal Financial Counselor to deliver comprehensive counseling to service members and families on military installations. You will educate on budgeting, debt management, and financial planning while coordinating with DoD personnel to ensure program alignment with DoD directives.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combinations), 3+ years of counseling experience, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; alternative qualifications considered (Assoc. degree + 4 years experience or HS diploma + 6 years experience).
• Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if contract requires.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC are preferred.
• Ability to obtain a favorable DoD Tier 2 background investigation.
• Must be able to pass Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
• Develop and deliver financial education materials and classes/workshops.
• Coordinate with installation POCs to ensure the program meets installation needs and scope.
• Utilize virtual counseling platforms when required by contract or client needs.
• Participate in supervision and quality improvement activities; perform other duties as assigned.
