Service Mechanic Laborer- Apprentice Program

Earn a spot as a Trailer Mechanic Apprentice after 90 days of employment!

Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel is a multi-location, full-service trailer dealership with an immediate opening for an entry-level Service Mechanic Laborer in our Scranton (Jessup), PA branch.

Upon successfully completing 90 days of service, you will be eligible for consideration into the Hale Trailer Inc. Mechanic Apprentice Program. In this program, you will train under experienced trailer mechanics to become a Mechanic 'C' in twelve months, then move on to earn Mechanic 'B' after 24 months, and Mechanic 'A' after 36 months, provided you remain in good standing and meet all training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians as needed and support them on certain jobs.
• Perform tasks efficiently, timely, accurately, professionally, and safely, in accordance with all company policies, DOT, OSHA, and other governmental standards and regulations.
• Unload material safely and promptly.
• Utilize forklift safely for stacking and unstacking containers and handling trailers.
• Wash trailers using power washers and brushes as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts, and supplies is a plus.
• Forklift experience is a plus; training will be provided.
• A current driver’s license with no moving violations in the past 3 years is a plus.
• Professional, motivated, positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Adherence to all safety and company policies.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
