Job summary

Look Ahead is seeking an innovative Service Manager for our Mental Health Social Care Services in Tower Hamlets. You will lead service delivery, line-manage frontline staff and oversee stakeholder relationships, ensuring rehabilitation, independence and reduced risk.

The role requires a degree or equivalent, extensive experience in contracts, safeguarding and forensic risk; you will work Mon-Fri 9-5 with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Experience of managing contracts and resources and delivering to budget and performance targets.
• Experience of delivering housing-management targets and managing tenancy sustainment within supported accommodation or a comparable setting.
• Experience of effectively managing and developing staff to ensure high-quality service delivery and performance.
• Experience of successfully managing external partnerships and multi-agency relationships.
• Substantial experience working with people with significant mental health needs and offending histories / criminal justice involvement.
• Strong practical understanding of forensic risk formulation and management, including dynamic risk, protective factors, relapse indicators, positive risk-taking and relational security.
• Working knowledge of legal and statutory frameworks including the Mental Health Act, safeguarding and information sharing.
• Experience leading safeguarding and serious incident responses and translating learning into practical service changes.
• Medication governance in a supported-care environment, including administration systems, non-adherence, errors, self-medication and escalation.
• High level of IT literacy and ability to use Nourish and Camascope.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including risk summaries, safeguarding referrals, incident reports, action plans and commissioner reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage service delivery with line management of frontline staff and stakeholder relationships.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customers' needs, routines, risks and plans to inform proactive care.
• Promote trauma-responsive and psychologically informed approaches in practice.
• Lead safeguarding practices and manage incidents and risks with appropriate escalation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with FOS, MDT and external partners for integrated care.
• Oversee medication governance, coordination of clinics and access to primary/physical healthcare.
• Represent the service in risk reviews, safeguarding and commissioner forums.
