Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the servicing of company and customer equipment in a timely and effective manner. You will manage repairs, scheduling, parts ordering, and staff training to ensure equipment availability and quality service.

Lead mechanics, coordinate with vendors, uphold safety standards, and maintain comprehensive service records while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Extensive repair and maintenance experience with self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Strong knowledge of work planning, scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Clear understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Experience with maintenance issue diagnosis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage repair and maintenance of company-owned and customer equipment (yard organization, Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
• Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability.
• Order parts and maintain adequate supplies.
• Train and assist staff mechanics; learn maintenance requirements from vendors.
• Evaluate equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
• Document equipment status before and after rental; manage service records and reports.
• Handle customer complaints about equipment condition or operation; promote safety.
• Create, update, and bill work orders; manage warranty claims; dispose of waste according to policy.
• Commission new equipment; manage parts inventory and vendor relationships.
