Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to lead the repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment, ensuring readiness and reliability across the fleet. You’ll develop schedules, supervise a team of mechanics, manage parts and warranty processes, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Extensive experience repairing/maintaining self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Knowledge of work planning, scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Clear perspective on maintenance and repair issues in the industry.
• Proven planning and management experience.
• Competent computer skills and software literacy.
• Experience with reporting and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Manages repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment; organizes yard.
• Prepares work schedules and handles service calls to meet customer needs.
• Orders parts to maintain adequate supplies.
• Provides training and guidance to staff mechanics.
• Collaborates with vendors to learn equipment maintenance requirements.
• Evaluates equipment after repairs, maintenance, or safety checks.
• Documents equipment status before and after rental.
• Handles customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promotes safety awareness and performs quality checks.
• Maintains and updates equipment service records.
• Creates, updates, closes, and bills work orders.
• Files warranty claims in a timely fashion.
• Commissions new equipment and manages parts inventory.
• Disposes of solid and hazardous waste per policy.
• Generates service reporting and performance metrics.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
