About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee and support a team of field technicians servicing commercial refrigeration equipment across convenience stores, restaurants, and retail locations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining technical troubleshooting, field operations, customer relationship management, and technician development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial refrigeration service and the ability to support technicians in the field while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The role will initially focus on Northern California, with opportunities to support the company's continued expansion across the western United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Operations: Monitor daily service activity, technician progress, and dispatch coordination to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Technical Support: Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support to technicians by phone and in the field, helping resolve complex refrigeration issues.
• Field Leadership: Visit technicians and customers to review work quality, evaluate performance, and provide coaching and technical guidance.
• Customer Relationships: Build strong relationships with customers, address service concerns, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Quotations & Cost Control: Assist with preparing quotes when repairs exceed established not-to-exceed (NTE) limits.
• Preventive Maintenance: Support the development and review of preventive maintenance scopes and service requirements.
• Team Development: Help recruit, develop, and retain technicians, supporting their technical growth and career progression.
• Operational Support: Participate in team meetings, assist with dispatch decisions, and identify opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial refrigeration service, ideally supporting convenience stores, restaurants, supermarkets, or other retail environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of walk‑in coolers and freezers, refrigerated display cases, and associated refrigeration systems.
• Previous experience as a senior technician, field supervisor, service supervisor, or Service Manager.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to guide technicians through complex service issues.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and people-management skills.
• A practical, hands‑on approach with a willingness to visit job sites and work directly with technicians.
• Ability to travel within the region as required and provide flexibility during busy service periods.
• A track record of building effective teams and maintaining strong customer relationships.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience in commercial refrigeration servicing retail and food‑service locations is particularly important.
