Job summary

Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service team and ensure smooth operations from dispatch to customer delivery. This role focuses on supporting technicians, coordinating with dispatch, and delivering a positive customer experience.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of management experience, strong communication and a working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC, with the flexibility to work after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC is required.
• Valid driver\'s license is required.
• Strong supervisory, communication and computer skills are required.
• Ability to work after regular business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads the service staff, including hiring, termination, discipline and scheduling.
• Coordinates service, maintenance and indoor air quality activities to drive efficiency.
• Resolves customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Works with the general manager on budgeting and cost control.
• Generates reports on departmental operations and inventory/vehicles.
• Trains crews on proper materials use and workmanship.
• Ensures vehicles and tools are stocked and maintained.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead
• Must be able to climb and work on ladders
• Must be able to use hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Manages and develops the service staff, which includes assisting in hiring, terminating, and disciplining of employees, scheduling employees, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments to ensure effective productions
• Coordinated activities of the maintenance, service, and indoor air quality departments to effect operational efficiency; uses system generated and locally produced reports to monitor field performance and identify areas for improvement
• Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
• Collaborates with the general manager on creating and managing budget
• Generated reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles
• Reviews reports with management
• Instructs crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship
• Reviews payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly
• Communicated with dispatchers to ensure appropriate technicians for types of service
• Evaluates staff to determine training requirements
• Ensures that company vehicles are properly stocked, that defective warranty parts are returned to the branch and that vehicle standard stock is ordered and replenished as needed
• Additional related duties as assigned/needed by branch/general manager
