Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Service Manager in Texas to oversee teams of service technicians through service supervisors for safe, efficient servicing of commercial industry trades, equipment, components & systems.

You will drive delivery and financial performance of a book of business, guide performance, and support sales with quotes and estimates. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 7 years of experience in service maintenance/repair in mechanical industry with lead experience.
  • OSHA-30 certification (must be obtained within six months if not current).
  • Valid U.S. Driver License with clean driving record.
  • Trade/technical training completion preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate workers.
  • MS Office and related business applications proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for delivery and financial performance of a book of business (Service Agreements, Quoted Repairs, T&M).
  • Lead teams via supervisors; manage performance; provide coaching and development plans.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management adherence.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to supervisors and technicians.
  • Assist with service quotes and estimates to support sales and growth.
  • Review financial statements and performance data to identify cost reductions and improvements.
  • Monitor work quality, cost estimates, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with account managers to understand customer scope before quotes/maintenance contracts.
  • Visit job sites to evaluate technician abilities, performance, and safety.
  • Manage selection, ordering, and delivery of supplies/equipment for technicians.
  • Address customer complaints and implement corrective measures; identify trends for management.
  • Involve in hiring, development and training of employees; conduct team meetings.
  • Perform additional assignments as needed.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to supervisor and technicians as needed.
  • Assists with service quotes and estimates to support sales and growth initiatives. Assists sales staff, as requested, with collecting data necessary to assemble accurate and timely service estimates.
  • Manages and reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievements and identifies areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Monitors work performed to ensure quality of work, cost estimates and customer expectations are met.
  • Coordinates with account managers to discuss and fully understand customer scope of service prior to assuming responsibility for quoted repairs or new maintenance contracts.
  • Visits job sites to evaluate technician abilities, performance, and safety compliance.
  • Manages the selection, ordering and delivery of supplies and equipment for technicians on assigned projects.
