Job summary

Midwest Machinery Co. seeks a Service Department Manager to optimize service operations, grow profitable labor sales and control costs. You will develop processes, coordinate promotions, manage staff, and ensure safety and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include scheduling, billing accuracy, warranty tracking, and promoting a safe work environment while partnering with education initiatives and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience in Service Department operations.
• Ability to use MS Office and internet functions.
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
• Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
• Basic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assists in developing and executing the Service Department marketing plan and monitors monthly goals.
• Coordinates customer clinics and related promotional events.
• Monitors warranty and Product Improvement Program expirations for maximum credit.
• Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees by skill and knowledge.
• Reviews work orders for completeness and closes orders in a timely fashion.
• Ensures tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order.
• Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development for the department.
• Participates in service EDUCATE training for skills development.
• Hosts or participates in local school-related career days annually.
• Attracts, retains and engages department personnel.
• Resolves employee and inter-departmental issues fairly and promptly.
• Maintains a safe work environment and follows safety rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package.
