Job summary

Premier Truck Group is seeking a Service Manager to lead the Service Department at our Knoxville location. The role requires directing service personnel, budgeting, and ensuring exceptional customer service in a heavy-duty truck environment.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in heavy-duty truck repair and five years in management, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. A valid driver's license is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in heavy-duty truck repair and installation.
• Five years’ experience in management is required.
• Ability to listen, communicate effectively and resolve conflict with customers, employees and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to service personnel, delegate assignments according to business needs and answer questions concerning present and future jobs.
• Manage the operation of the Service Department including training, recruiting, interviewing, employment appraisals and possible employee discipline and termination issues.
• Prepare annual budget and monitor budgeted expenditures.
• Maintain awareness of current and projected market conditions; develop and implement appropriate strategies and programs as necessary to attain the dealership’s Service Department objectives.

• Skills in welding, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to listen, communicate effectively and resolve conflict with customers, employees and co-workers.
• Experience in employee supervision and personnel administration preferably in a service technician environment.
• Ability to develop written estimates and quote bids and schedule jobs.
• Ability to read instructions, work orders, and specifications.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate personal computer and 10 key.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Goal oriented, results focused.
• Valid Driver License required
