Job summary

The Nabors Pools LLC Service & Repairs team seeks a Service Level I Pool Technician to perform weekly residential and light commercial service on an assigned route. Responsibilities include water testing, balancing chemistry, equipment maintenance, and documenting services digitally.

Entry-level role with a structured training path; candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work outdoors. Training progresses toward Service Level II with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Previous pool service experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn pool service, water chemistry, and equipment maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Test and balance water chemistry each visit (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, CYA).
  • Apply Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) and dose chemicals to balance water.
  • Recognize and correct corrosive or scaling conditions.
  • Adjust chemistry seasonally (summer vs. winter targets).
  • Prime pumps and confirm full flow before leaving site.
  • Operate and adjust valves, actuators, and automation/timers.
  • Read sight glass and backwash filters at correct pump speed.
  • Add filter media (DE) after backwashing.
  • Check filter pressure and flag issues.
  • Brush pool walls, steps, corners; net debris; empty skimmer/pump baskets.
  • Vacuum manually and with equipment.
  • Follow gate/lockout protocol.
  • Complete inclement-weather service per storm protocol.
  • Maintain algae prevention via proper filtration and sanitation.
  • Follow chemical safety protocol and PPE requirements.
  • Keep truck clean and report maintenance needs.
  • Drive safely with GPS monitoring.
  • Report incidents within 24 hours; call 911 if needed.
  • Complete service reports with readings and photos at each stop.
  • Log parts used for billing and inventory.
  • Create work orders with photos for issues found.
  • Manage the route in Skimmer; use Teams and Gusto as directed.

Service Level I Technician

Department: Service & Repairs

Reports To: Lead Technician

Position Summary

The Service Level I Pool Technician is responsible for performing weekly residential and light commercial pool service along an assigned route — testing and balancing water chemistry, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and completing digital service documentation to company standard. This is an entry-level field role with a structured, checklist-based training path; technicians are expected to demonstrate each core competency below before advancing to Service Level II.

Key Responsibilities

Water Chemistry & Testing

  • Test and balance water chemistry each visit (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, CYA)
  • Apply the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) and dose chemicals to bring water into balance
  • Recognize and correct corrosive or scaling conditions
  • Adjust chemistry approach seasonally (summer vs. winter targets)

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Prime pumps and confirm full flow (not just water present) before leaving a site
  • Operate and adjust valves, actuators, and automation/timers
  • Read the sight glass and backwash filters at the correct pump speed
  • Add the correct amount and placement of filter media (DE) after backwashing
  • Check filter pressure against baseline and flag issues

Cleaning & Route Service

  • Brush pool walls, steps, and corners each visit
  • Net surface and bottom debris; empty skimmer and pump baskets
  • Vacuum manually and with Hammerhead/RipTide equipment
  • Follow gate/lockout protocol at every property
  • Complete inclement-weather service per company storm protocol (chemical and equipment check only, no pole work)

Algae Prevention

  • Maintain proper filtration, circulation, and sanitation to prevent algae growth

Truck, Equipment & Safety

  • Follow chemical safety protocol — never mix chemicals; store and handle acid and chlorine separately
  • Use required PPE (gloves, eye protection) when handling chemicals
  • Keep the truck clean, secure, and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Drive safely and follow GPS monitoring expectations (no harsh braking, hard acceleration, or speeding)
  • Follow lightning/thunder and inclement-weather protocol
  • Report incidents within 24 hours; call 911 then management for emergencies

Documentation & Administration

  • Complete a service report with readings and a photo at every stop
  • Log parts used as Installed Items with photos for billing and inventory
  • Create Tech Concerns / work orders with photos when issues are found
  • Manage the assigned route in Skimmer; use Microsoft Teams and Gusto as directed

Successful Pool Technicians may advance to Service Technician II, Lead Technician, and, with demonstrated leadership and technical ability, Technician Trainer.

Commission Based at $600 - $900/Weekly
