POSITION SUMMARY

The Service Leader holds the responsibility of upholding all service standards for events and cultivating a cohesive team spirit among staff members. This entails promoting team growth through continuous training and development initiatives. Additionally, the role involves contributing to the maintenance of product quality and venue cleanliness. Positive collaboration with Operations Directors and the Diamond team is a key aspect of ensuring seamless coordination and service excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product
  • Directs set up and breakdown of assigned events including, but not limited to cleanliness of overall venue, proper storage and organization of items, reporting/recording lost/found items.
  • Oversees set up and execution of food service and courses; provides necessary feedback to appropriate individuals (i.e. Chef, Operations) to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Adheres to all job relevant manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures.

Customer Service/Hospitality
  • Ensures all hospitality standards are being met and upheld.
  • Ensures clients and guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
  • Set a positive example for all employee and guest relations and interactions.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on quality and service levels (i.e. table touches, guest interaction throughout event timeline).
  • Responds to and handles client/guest problems and complaints and ensures full resolution and satisfaction.
  • Encourages team to provide excellent customer service and hospitality.
  • Verifies employees understand expectations and parameters; manages expectations accordingly.
  • Strives to improve service performance and hospitality.

Employee and Management Interaction
  • Assists in training and development of event personnel (i.e. event support, servers, set up personnel, operations, etc.).
  • Follows up with Event Manager to ensure all information is understood.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relations with both co‑workers and managers.
  • Maintains effective transition of client and information from Event Manager meeting, and after, to all other pertinent departments.
  • Works with Operations Director to ensure adequate staffing for events and managing staff.
  • Balances teamwork and individual responsibilities.
  • Gives and welcomes constructive feedback.
  • Puts success of team above personal interests.
  • Able and willing to fill in as needed, with or without request.
Planning and Organizing and Venue Maintenance
  • Uses objectives, schedules, policies, and procedures to obtain desired levels of productivity.
  • Maintains well‑organized facility areas, including but not limited to, smallwares inventory, staff work areas, storage areas, coat closet, bridal suites, etc.
  • Works with management to coordinate training as needed to meet business needs.
  • Conduct weekday inventory of smallwares.
  • Attends all BEO and any other pertinent meetings regarding client, event execution or training.
  • Conducts event space walk‑throughs prior to each event to verify the room is set according to specifications.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in all event operation areas.
Event Execution
  • Assign event duties to FOH staff.
  • Lead and manage all steps of service.
  • Oversee set up of all event specific items, including but not limited to, table placement, stations set up/placement, temperature and lighting settings, venue cleanliness, all requested inventory on site, vendor load in and set up direction.
  • Close out event and venue, including but not limited to linen clean up and storage, venue cleanliness, close out temperature and lighting settings, locking doors/setting alarms, packing up client items and ensuring signature received of designated person responsible items by client.
  • Leads nightly pre‑shifts and close out of events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Prolonged periods of standing, climbing/balancing, stooping/bending.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Requires ability to communicate clearly and concisely using the English language with guests.
  • Ability to sustain long periods of loud noise and vibrations.
  • Use of color vision and vision.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment including exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
