Job summary

Kenworth Northeast in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Shop Foreman to lead our service team. The role oversees technicians, helps diagnose issues, and ensures safety and quality in repairs. It’s a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive hourly base pay of $32–$40.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise Service Technicians.

Kenworth Northeast supplies the Northeast region with The World’s Best® heavy and medium-duty trucks and parts—and we’re hiring an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our service team in Buffalo, NY.

Pay: $32–$40/hour (depending on experience)

What You’ll Do

Lead, mentor, and ensure quality repairs

• Supervise and support Service Technicians
• Assist with diagnosing mechanical issues and recommending repairs when needed
• Ensure repairs are completed to safety and quality standards
• Review completed work and perform road tests as needed
• Help maintain a safe, clean, well-organized shop

Support service sales and customer satisfaction

• Assist the Service Advisor with greeting customers, writing repair orders, and estimating repair costs within guidelines
• Support warranty documentation and ensure warranty parts are handled correctly
• Work with customers to support shop scheduling and pre-plan part requirements
• Escalate customer concerns to the Service Manager so issues are resolved before delivery

Promote safe work habits

• Encourage safe work practices and report safety concerns
• Follow company safety policies and procedures

Training & Development

• Stay current on warranty, technical updates, and leadership skills through ongoing training

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED), and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum four years of experience in a dealership environment, including a proven service background and knowledge of warranties.
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills.
• Excellent leadership abilities and a positive, can-do attitude.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to the role.
• May occasionally be required to lift to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and twist as needed. If needed or required, stand for extended periods; for example, 4-8 hours.
