The position will be in office 5 days/week.

Provide strategic financial leadership and consultation for Service Finance, partnering closely with Business Unit leadership and Truist Accounting and Finance teams to drive profitability, operating leverage, and long-term strategic direction with specific focus on optimizing financial operations. This role leads all business operations finance and accounting activities, including financial planning, cash management, reporting, regulatory compliance, business case development, finance transformation, and team leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Business Partnerships
   • Serve as a trusted advisor to Business Unit leadership on financial performance and reporting
   • Actively participate in the development and evaluation of business plans, including operating leverage and growth strategies.
2. Accounting & Financial Operations
   • Lead finance related functions for Service Finance, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and Truist accounting policies, in partnership with Consumer Credit Controllers.
   • Oversee the daily accounting operations for Service Finance, including daily journal entries and bank account and source system reconciliations.
   • Partner with Consumer Credit Controllers around the monthly accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.
   • Manage all treasury related teammates and processes, including but not limited to line of credit oversight and optimization and Real Time Payments.
   • Lead all business process activities relating to counterparty reporting, lockbox management, payment and check processing, and refund management.
   • Ensure all vendor payments are facilitated through the appropriate sourcing payment systems, Onestop and ARIBA, in alignment with applicable policies and procedures.
   • In Coordination with Consumer Credit Controllers, ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting, including management reporting packages with variance analysis and business insights.
   • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with reconciliation policies and financial reporting standards.
   • Provide accounting guidance, in partnership with Consumer Credit Controllers, to Business Unit leadership on complex matters including:
     • Revenue recognition
     • Intercompany transactions
     • Capitalization and fixed assets
     • Cost allocations and accruals
     • Business combinations
   • Partner with Consumer Credit Controllers and Accounting Policy on technical accounting issues.
   • Provide first-line oversight of financial reporting controls and finance-related risk management.
3. Finance Transformation, Automation & Process Optimization
   • Lead the end-to-end finance transformation agenda, modernizing accounting and finance operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
   • In conjunction with Consumer Credit Controllers, identify and execute opportunities to automate manual processes across accounting, reporting, forecasting, and reconciliations using technology solutions (e.g., SAP capabilities, workflow tools).
   • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process redesign, standardization, and simplification of core finance activities (record-to-report, forecast-to-plan, and reconciliation processes).
   • Develop and implement a future-state finance operating model that enhances speed, quality, and transparency of financial information.
   • Partner with Technology, Data, and Operations teams to implement digital solutions that enable straight-through processing, reduce operational risk, and strengthen auditability.
   • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for finance processes (e.g., close cycle time, reconciliation aging, manual journal entries) and drive sustained improvement.
   • Champion data governance, data integrity, and the use of advanced analytics to enhance financial insights and decision-making.
4. Regulatory & External Reporting
   • Partner with Consumer Credit Controllers as the point of contact for regulatory and external reporting requirements for Service Finance.
   • Partner with Consumer Credit Controllers on the annual Service Finance Company standalone financial audit.
   • Lead and manage all other internal and external financial audits and exams, including but not limited to SOX, Financial Statement and SOC-1 engagements.
5. Team Leadership & Talent Development
   • Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team of finance and accounting professionals.
   • Drive all aspects of talent management, including hiring, performance management, promotions, and succession planning.
   • Foster a culture aligned with Truist’s purpose, mission, and values.
   • Build organizational capability in finance transformation, automation, and digital tools.
   • Promote associate engagement, professional development, and leadership capability across the team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
• 10+ years of management experience within banking or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of banking industry financial management practices and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, process optimization, or automation initiatives.
• Strong analytical expertise, including:
  • Financial forecasting
  • Capital budgeting and investment analysis
  • Discounted cash flow modeling
  • Profitability and performance analysis
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
• Proven ability to lead change, influence senior stakeholders, and execute large-scale initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CFA.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP platforms.
• Experience with automation and analytics tools (e.g.,BOARD, Power BI, Tableau, workflow platforms).
• Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certification.
