Job summary

Trane Technologies in Springdale, AR is seeking a Service Estimator to join our team. You will prepare quotes for HVAC service projects, calculating materials, labor, subcontractors and equipment costs to support Account Managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years' estimating experience or 5+ years HVAC technician experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems preferred.
• Strong budgeting and cost estimation skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create quotes for service agreements and quoted works for Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
• Prepare cost estimates including materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities.
• Develop detailed scope based on design-build scope; include cost estimates, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and cost breakdowns.
• Take-off and price purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, and options.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and stay current with industry standards.
• Develop scope of work for sub-contractors and negotiate prices.
• Hold pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.

What’s in it for you:

Trane in Springdale, AR is hiring for a Service Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be working with Trane Account Managers and building owners providing estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements. Trane always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy efficient buildings!

What you will do:

• Create quotes for service agreements and all quoted works in support of our Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
• Responsible for the cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities created by personnel to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.
• Develops detailed scope based on Account Managers design-build scope. Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points list.
• Responsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
• Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects. Maintains competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards.
• Develops the scope of work for sub-contractors. Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
• Responsible for holding job pre-bid meeting with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study preferred; or minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' related estimating experience; or minimum five (5) years HVAC Technician experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.
• Preferred experience with financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
• Experience working directly with building owners is a plus.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

• $58,045.00 - $80,640.00 Compensation Type:
