Job summary

Trane Technologies in Maitland, FL is hiring a Service Estimator to join our team. You will prepare quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements in collaboration with Account Managers and building owners to deliver energy-efficient solutions.

The role requires HVAC/estimation experience or a technical degree, construction know-how, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic setting. On-site work with some flexible location options is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study preferred.
• 3–5 years' related experience; technical certificate acceptable; HVAC background helpful.
• Working knowledge of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create quotes for service agreements and all quoted works in support of Account Managers.
• Responsible for cost estimates: materials, sub-contractors, labor, and related activities.
• Develops detailed scope and cost estimates with vendor quotes and scope definitions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain competitive industry standards.
• Develops scope of work for sub-contractors and negotiates prices to optimize costs.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.

Trane in Maitland, FL is hiring for a Service Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be will be working with Trane Account Managers and building owners providing estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements. Trane always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy efficient buildings!

What You Will Do

• Create quotes for service agreements and all quoted works in support of our Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
• Responsible for the cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities created by personnel to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.
• Develops detailed scope based on Account Managers design-build scope. Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points list.
• Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects. Maintains competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards.
• Develops the scope of work for sub-contractors. Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study preferred with minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ related experience; or technical certificate with five (5) years related experience; or HVAC Technician experience with combination of education and related field experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
