Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace seeks a Service Engineering Structural Design CS SVC Tech Spec II at the Savannah site. This role develops and supports structural design for Gulfstream aircraft, solving complex engineering challenges in collaboration with multi-discipline teams.

Requirements include degrees in engineering, strong CATIA V5 and SmarTeam skills, and the ability to read 2D/3D drawings and data models. Travel up to 25% and a commitment to quality are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Aeronautical preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of CATIA V5 and SmarTeam with demonstrated experience beyond training.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop 2D and 3D aircraft drawings, data, and models.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills with external and internal customers.
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplined team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, managers, etc.
• Basic knowledge of structural load paths and stress analysis.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering. Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Degree is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Catia V5 and Smarteam with demonstrated experience beyond training
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop 2D and 3D aircraft and aircraft component engineering drawings/data/models
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization's position with external and internal customers.
• The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-disciplined team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, managers, etc.
• Basic knowledge of structural load paths and stress analysis

Prefered Skills

• Direct structures experience with Gulfstream aircraft past and present models and the associated type design data
• MRB, concessions engineering or in service repair experience
• Knowledge of FAR Chapter 25 Part D, specifically design and construction regulations
• Experience with AMMs, CMMs OHMs SRMs or other aircraft manuals
• Experience with troubleshooting aircraft systems
• Hands on aircraft repair experience and/or understanding of sheet metal and machined part fabrication, and assembly of such.

Education And Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

• Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Other Requirements

• Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
• The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
