Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation seeks an experienced Service Engineering Liaison for the weekend shift in Savannah, GA. This role supports major engineering programs and involves guiding complex engineering activities for aircraft structures design and repair.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with extensive, multi-disciplinary experience, and can communicate effectively with internal teams and customers. Weekend schedule and travel expectations apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10 years in a technical discipline or 15 years across multiple engineering areas.
  • Experience with aircraft structures design and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Select methods and criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  • Serve as an authority; advise associates and customers.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex issues with standards and guides.
  • Balance technical objectives with cost and schedule.
  • Work with minimal direction; focus on long-range results.
  • Set technical objectives and make influential recommendations.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments to drive improvements.

Service Engineering Liaison (Weekend shift) CS SVC Tech Spec II in GAC Savannah

Unique Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of aircraft structures design.
  • Fundamental understanding of aircraft structures design principles and aircraft structural repair.
  • The ability to use computer aided design tools such as CCD, CATIA V4 & V5, AutoCAD, or similar in the design of aircraft structures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization's position with external and internal customers.
  • The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-disciplined team of engineers, technicians, managers, customers, etc.
  • Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
Preferred Unique Skills
  • Gulfstream engineering experience, e.g. GIV, G450, GV, G550, G650, G500, G600 G700, G800.
  • Experience with Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals and Structural Repair Manuals.
  • Experience designing aircraft structural repair drawings with basic static stress analysis in support of the drawing.
  • Fundamental knowledge of composite and metal bonded structural design.
  • Practical hands on aircraft repair experience and problem solving.
Education And Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Position Purpose:Guides successful completion of major engineering programs, or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

  • Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues .
  • Is consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field .
  • Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities .
  • Approach to problem solving balances technical product, cost and schedule .
  • Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results .
  • Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, and makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative .
Additional Functions
  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
  • The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
