The role involves hands-on work with state-of-the-art equipment, performing system startups, troubleshooting, and delivering operator training. Ideal candidates have a mechanical/electrical background, PLC/automation experience, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with PLCs and automation systems is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency with piping, valves, pumps and programmable controllers is required.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and writing skills are essential.
• Valid passport for international travel and ability to travel ~70% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead field startup, troubleshooting, and performance testing across North America.
• Provide operator training and develop standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to implement controls and PLC/HMI programming improvements.
• Document activities and maintain accurate records for projects.

Job description

JSG is seeking a Field Service Engineer located in the Orlando FL vicinity. This is for a client based in Voorhees NJ. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to travel across North America, working hands‑on with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, conducting system startups, troubleshooting, and delivering impactful operator training. Pay $80K

Required Skills

• Mechanical engineering background (4-year degree preferred, or 2-year degree with relevant experience)
• Experience with PLCs and automation systems is highly advantageous
• Proficiency in working with piping, motor-controlled valves, pumps, and programmable controllers
• Strong organizational, documentation, and writing skills
• Competence in MS Office applications
• Valid passport for international travel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude with excellent communication skills

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with programming adjustments to PLCs and HMIs
• Familiarity with field digital and analog instruments such as pH probes and flow meters
• Skills in welding plastics and repairing fiberglass
• Experience in developing standard operating procedures and training materials

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Technical school certification demonstrating hands-on skills with piping, pumps, and automation systems
• Prior experience in startup, performance testing, or servicing odor control or similar systems

Other Requirements

• Willingness to travel approximately 70% across North America, primarily within the USA, with potential international trips
• Ability to carry out system startup, troubleshooting, performance testing, and calibration duties
