Job summary

Southern Auto Group in Newport News, VA is seeking a Service Valet to help move customer vehicles within the service area, ensuring smooth traffic flow and customer convenience. You must be at least 18, have a valid driver's license with a clean record, and be able to drive both automatic and manual transmissions.

Strong English communication and a professional appearance are required. The position is in-person with a focus on safety and efficient service flow.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
• Able to drive both automatic and standard transmissions.
• Neat, clean, and professional appearance.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service focus.
• Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers entering the service area with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Determines if customers have an appointment and records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around).
• Controls service traffic flow and parking, help with loaner vehicles as needed, and parks vehicles after they have been written up.
• Drives safely and reports any lot damage immediately.
• Retrieves vehicles for customers at Cashier for pick-up, waits at vehicle for customers, and thanks customers for their business.
• Installs disposable protective coverings (seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, etc.) and I.D. tags in all vehicles brought in for service.
• Delivers keys and repair order hard copies to the appropriate Service Advisor immediately after parking a vehicle in the service parking lot.
• Maintains a clean and safe service area that is free of trash, water, leaves, and dirt.
• Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
• Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes any reports or logs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.]
