Job description

Our client is seeking a Service Desk Manager to lead a high-performing technical support team. This leadership-focused role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving team development, and staying engaged in the technical environment when needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation, proven experience within an MSP, and a passion for mentoring and coaching engineers at all levels. This is a fully remote position.

Service Desk Manager's Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development planning for team members
  • Act as an escalation point for technical and operational issues
  • Maintain visibility into service metrics, SLAs, and client satisfaction
  • Support process improvements and contribute to overall service desk strategy
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, client success, and operations teams
  • Remain hands-on when needed for complex troubleshooting or escalations

Service Desk Manager's Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior leadership experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, develop, and retain top talent
  • Solid technical background and hands-on experience with: ServiceNow, Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, and VMWare.
