Job summary

Mechanics Hub in Spencer, IA is seeking a Service Department Leader to guide a skilled team in a full-time capacity. You will oversee mechanical and fabrication shop operations, lead staffing decisions, and manage the end-to-end work order process from customer approval to invoicing.

You will communicate with customers on estimates and repairs, monitor quality and warranty performance, and ensure proper training for technicians.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the mechanical and fabrication shop.
• Lead recruit interview and support service department employees while addressing performance and staffing needs.
• Manage staffing levels and assigned hours to meet customer demand and maximize department profitability.
• Oversee the complete work order process from customer authorization through final invoicing and documentation.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding estimates, repair authorizations, repair updates, completion and invoices.
• Monitor the quality of repairs to ensure high customer satisfaction and minimize warranty repairs.
• Ensure technicians receive appropriate training and identify additional training needs.
• Work closely with the parts department to ensure parts are accurately recorded and received in a timely manner.
• Monitor department productivity, warranty performance, efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain a clean, professional, safe and organized shop environment.

Schedule

Day shift schedule Monday to Friday 700 AM to 400PM. No evenings weekends holidays or on-call schedule. OT after 40 hours.
