Job summary

GFL Environmental Services is seeking a Service Coordinator to be the main contact for client inquiries, manage dispatch schedules, and oversee work orders. You will coordinate transportation, track manifests, and liaise with drivers, vendors, and customers to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in customer service, dispatch, or logistics, proficiency with MS Office and dispatch software, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in customer service, dispatch, or logistics (waste/enviro services preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and dispatch software; willingness to learn new tools.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• High School Diploma or GED; relevant coursework in logistics or environmental fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main contact for client and account manager inquiries, pickup schedules, and service requests.
• Schedule transportation/dispatch, process and reconcile work orders, coordinate with drivers, dispatch, customers, and vendors.
• Maintain and reconcile waste manifests, driver tickets, and reports in internal systems.
• Audit/reconcile vendor invoices with finance; log service updates in the central database.
• Assist clients with waste diversion goals and proper disposal protocols for hazardous waste.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the main point of contact for client and account manager inquiries, pickup schedules, service requests, etc.
• Schedule transportation/dispatch, process and reconcile work orders, and coordinate directly with internal drivers/dispatch personnel as well as customers and third-party vendors.
• Maintain and reconcile accurate waste manifests, driver tickets, and waste summary reports within our internal software and processes.
• Working closely with our Waste Group Operations personnel and biller(s) to audit/reconcile vendor invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and log service updates into the central database.
• Assist clients with waste diversion goals, contamination reduction, and proper disposal protocols for hazardous or special waste materials.

What’s Required

• 1–3 years in customer service, dispatch, or logistics (prior experience in waste management/environmental services is preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and customer portal or dispatch software and ability/willingness to work with new software (i.e. Google)
• Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced operational environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant certifications or coursework in logistics/environmental fields are a plus.
