Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations. • Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team).
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• May require lifting and physical activity as part of shift duties.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when leadership not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions involving shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns as needed.
• Champion participation in community programs; engage team member resource groups.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Conduct on-the-job training and mentoring for team members.
• Act as SME for market programs, pilots, and training initiatives.
• Assign tasks to team members with leadership alignment and follow-up.

This role coordinates checkout flow, maintains front-end cleanliness and standards, and assigns work for cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service expectations. Through active coaching, labor utilization, and customer issue resolution, the Service Coordinator drives strong customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and accountability for front-end performance.

What You'll be Doing:

This is a FULL TIME position and requires OPEN AVILABILITY

** This Role Requires you to work every weekend **

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility. Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
