Job summary

CarMax Duarte, CA is seeking a Service Operator to deliver outstanding customer service and support the service department through all repair stages. You will handle in-person and phone inquiries, schedule appointments, coordinate repairs, and keep records accurate while following EH&S guidelines.

This role requires strong communication, ability to multitask, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with hourly pay $18.20–$29.30.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of customer service excellence.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and active listening abilities.
• Ability to follow standardized service processes and keep satisfaction high.
• Proficient data entry and basic computer skills including spreadsheets.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays; professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to inbound service calls with empathy.
• Assist Service Consultants and Customer Advisors to ensure seamless service experiences.
• Schedule service appointments and route calls/inquiries accurately.
• Send timely written messages to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
• Coordinate repair requests, schedule appointments, and remind about upcoming visits.
• Audit sublet invoices, loaner logs, and dealer tags per CarMax guidelines.
• Maintain EH&S compliance and keep the work area clean and orderly.
