Job summary

Ryerson Canada is seeking a Service Center Operator B (SCOB) to join our team in Fort Smith, AR. You will handle staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments and ensure accurate SAP-based paperwork for shipping and receiving.

The role includes using sit-down or side loader forklifts, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to efficient finished goods production. Apprenticeship onboarding is part of the process, with training supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment in reading, math, inspection, accuracy.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (vision, hearing, mobility).
• Enrolled in a registered apprenticeship during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer orders.
• Package material to customer specifications.
• Operate a sit-down or side loader forklift.
• Complete paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
