Job summary

Ryerson is hiring a Service Center Operator B (SCOB) to manage day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments. You will use proper equipment and complete SAP work orders for shipping/receiving, aiming for maximum productivity in finished goods creation.

The role includes breaking down bulk bundles for custom orders, packaging to specifications, and operating forklifts. Enrollment in an apprenticeship program is part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Regular attendance.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to pass vision, hearing, and mobility exam.
• Enrolment in a registered apprenticeship program upon onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operate sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Complete paperwork and SAP work order confirmations for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned or changed.
