Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a School Bus Operator to operate school buses and related transportation vehicles. The role requires adherence to schedules and safety standards set by the Putnam County Schools and WVDOE.

The operator will perform duties per the district's transportation handbook and must maintain the required licenses, endorsements, and certifications, including a 200-day employment schedule and eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Passes the required physical examination.
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles as provided by the school district.
• Follow routes and schedules as determined by the Coordinator of Transportation.
• Ensure safety and compliance with WV Department of Education requirements.

Service Salary Schedule . Salary based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance.

Job Description

The School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
• Passes the required physical examination
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate

Length of Employment

200 Days
