Job summary

First Merchants Corporation is seeking a part-time banking teammate to support customer transactions and inquiries at our banking center. You will balance cash, handle daily transactions, and assist with opening/closing duties while ensuring privacy and security.

You will actively participate in a high-performing sales environment by promoting bank products, making referrals, and staying informed about offerings. Training and coaching are provided as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3 months of sales, cash handling, or related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests for banking transactions and inquiries with solutions that meet customer needs.
• Balance cash, daily transactions, vault and ATM operations.
• Assist with opening and/or closing banking center and follow procedures to protect customer privacy.
• Contribute to a high performing sales environment by selling bank products and making referrals.
• Participate in daily/weekly meetings and coaching sessions.

As part of this role, you will:

• Responding to customer requests for banking transactions.
• Answering customer inquiries and problems with solutions that meet the customer's current needs.
• Continually building customer loyalty and customer advocates.
• Contribute to overall banking center operation by:
• Balance cash, daily transactions, vault and ATM.
• Understanding and ensuring compliance, regulations and reporting.
• Following information security policy and verification procedures to protect customer privacy.
• Assist with opening and/or closing banking center.
• Actively participate in a high performing sales environment by:
• Selling bank products, making customer referrals and other activities to support the goals.
• Knowing about all bank products.
• Participating in daily/weekly meetings and coaching sessions.

To be successful in this position, we require the following:
