Job summary

Allied Orion Group in Houston is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in and ensure all standards are met for timely turnover. You will perform repairs and touch-ups, install fixtures as needed, and clean the unit before and after make-ready.

Inspectations of completed apartments and scheduling follow-up work to designate a unit as Ready are essential. Good English, basic tool proficiency, and knowledge of safety rules (OSHA) are required;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications as required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in.
• Review the make-ready board and take direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to determine action to be taken on apartment homes.
• Make all repairs/replacements necessary for unit to be occupied as outlined on the make-ready checklist.
• Apply touch-up and full-paints as needed to interior and exterior of apartment homes.
• Clean out all trash from apartment homes before, during and after make-ready activity.
• Inspect completed apartment homes and schedules any necessary follow-up work before designating the unit as “Ready”.

Therefore, must possess excellent interpersonal skills.Must be able to read and write in English in order to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA Requirements, EEOC.Must supply own tools.
