Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking a Lead Service Associate for the evening shift. The role involves acting as a supervisor on days when managers are unavailable, scheduling duties, and addressing issues promptly to support clean, safe patient areas.

Typical duties include cleaning patient rooms and non-patient areas, stocking supplies, handling waste, and maintaining a sanitary hospital environment. Requires at least 1 year in housekeeping, High School Diploma, and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training to learn safety procedures, infection control, and cleaning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly environments for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms and non-patient care areas, including floor mopping and buffing.
• Restock equipment and supplies in patient rooms and care areas.
• Handle regular and bio-hazard waste and linen.
• Support service quality by effective communication and teamwork.

Evening Shift

• The Lead Service Associate reports directly to the department leadership team.
• The Lead Service Associate will also perform the functions of a Supervisor on days when department Managers are unavailable. This involves scheduling, assigning duties, monitoring attendance, answering calls within the hospital and addressing any concerns that would need to be addressed immediately.
• Patient rooms and non-patient care areas, floor mopping, cleaning and buffing utilizing necessary equipment, and other job duties as assigned per the needs of the department.
• Cleans patient rooms and restocks equipment and supplies.
• Supports quality patient care services by maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly environment for health care providers as well as patients and visitors of all ages and developmental levels.
• Performs daily and discharge cleaning of isolation and non-isolation patient rooms.
• Perform unplanned/unscheduled cleaning functions throughout the day in response to spills, accidents, unexpected debris, etc.
• Stocks equipment and supplies in patient rooms.
• Handle regular and bio-hazard waste and linen.
• The Lead Service Associate demonstrates behavior consistent with the operating principles of Loyola University Medical Center and functions as a contributing member of a health care team which meets patient needs through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum one(1) year experience as a housekeeping specialist, or equivalent.
• Previous Hospital Experience rpefferred.
• One to three months of on-the-job training and experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of safety procedures, treatment of carpet and floorings; infection control, isolation disinfections procedures, fabric cleaning techniques and so forth.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.

Pay Range: $15.40 - $19.28 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
