Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking an Evening Shift Lead Service Associate to oversee housekeeping tasks in a hospital setting. You will report to the department leadership and may supervise on days when managers are unavailable, scheduling and coordinating staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and non-patient areas, stocking supplies, maintaining safety and infection control standards, and handling waste and linen. High school diploma required; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a housekeeping specialist.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• On-the-job training of 1–3 months to acquire knowledge of safety procedures, infection control, isolation disinfections, and fabric cleaning techniques.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

This position will be responsible for all housekeeping duties to include:

• The Lead Service Associate reports directly to the department leadership team.
• The Lead Service Associate will also perform the functions of a Supervisor on days when department Managers are unavailable. This involves scheduling, assigning duties, monitoring attendance, answering calls within the hospital and addressing any concerns that would need to be addressed immediately.
• Patient rooms and non-patient care areas, floor mopping, cleaning and buffing utilizing necessary equipment, and other job duties as assigned per the needs of the department.
• Cleans patient rooms and restocks equipment and supplies.
• Supports quality patient care services by maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly environment for health care providers as well as patients and visitors of all ages and developmental levels.
• Performs daily and discharge cleaning of isolation and non-isolation patient rooms.
• Perform unplanned/unscheduled cleaning functions throughout the day in response to spills, accidents, unexpected debris, etc.
• Stocks equipment and supplies in patient rooms.
• Handle regular and bio-hazard waste and linen.
• The Lead Service Associate demonstrates behavior consistent with the operating principles of Loyola University Medical Center and functions as a contributing member of a health care team which meets patient needs through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum one(1) year experience as a housekeeping specialist, or equivalent.
• Previous Hospital Experience rpefferred.
• One to three months of on-the-job training and experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of safety procedures, treatment of carpet and floorings; infection control, isolation disinfections procedures, fabric cleaning techniques and so forth.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.

Pay Range: $15.40 - $19.28 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
