Job summary

Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois is seeking a Lead Service Associate to oversee housekeeping duties within the hospital. You will supervise on days when managers are unavailable, schedule tasks, monitor attendance, and coordinate with department leadership.

You will clean patient rooms, stock supplies, handle waste, and maintain a safe, sanitary environment for patients and staff, including isolation and non-isolation room cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one(1) year experience as a housekeeping specialist, or equivalent.
• Previous Hospital Experience preferred.
• One to three months of on-the-job training and experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of safety procedures, treatment of carpet and floorings; infection control, isolation disinfections procedures, fabric cleaning techniques and so forth.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead Service Associate reports directly to the department leadership team.
• Lead Service Associate will also perform the functions of a Supervisor on days when department Managers are unavailable, including scheduling, assigning duties, monitoring attendance, answering calls within the hospital and addressing immediate concerns.
• Patient rooms and non-patient care areas, floor mopping, cleaning and buffing utilizing necessary equipment, and other job duties as assigned per the needs of the department.
• Cleans patient rooms and restocks equipment and supplies.
• Supports quality patient care services by maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly environment for health care providers as well as patients and visitors of all ages and developmental levels.
• Performs daily and discharge cleaning of isolation and non-isolation patient rooms.
• Performs unplanned/unscheduled cleaning functions throughout the day in response to spills, accidents, unexpected debris, etc.
• Stocks equipment and supplies in patient rooms.
• Handle regular and bio-hazard waste and linen.
• The Lead Service Associate demonstrates behavior consistent with the operating principles of Loyola University Medical Center and functions as a contributing member of a health care team which meets patient needs through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes.

Pay Range: $15.40 - $19.28 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
