Job summary

Gillman Automotive Group is seeking a Service Advisor to join our Texas-based dealerships. The role focuses on greeting customers, understanding concerns, coordinating with technicians, and detailing maintenance recommendations.

The advisor will guide customers through repairs, provide clear explanations of work and costs, and ensure high-quality workmanship. Responsibilities include walk-around inspections, updating customers on progress, and informing them of future maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• UCS computer system knowledge is helpful.
• Prior experience in automotive service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally.
• Perform thorough walk-around inspections of vehicles.
• Accurately record customer concerns and relay to technicians.
• Outline and sell maintenance interval repairs to customers.
• Keep customers informed of vehicle progress while in the shop.
• Notify customers of changes in promised times.
• Inform customers of future maintenance needs.
• Deliver finished vehicles with explanations of work and charges.
• Complete work according to safety requirements and published procedures.
• Produce quality workmanship with pride in craftsmanship.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and teammates as required.

The Gillman Companies is an established group of family owned automobile dealerships based out of Houston, TX. RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

• UCS computer system experience helpful
• Greet Customers in a professional manner
• Perform thorough walk-around inspection of vehicles
• Accurately record customer concerns, and relay this information to technicians accurately
• Help customer maintain their vehicle by outlining, and selling needed maintenance interval repairs
• Keep customers informed of vehicles progress while in shop
• Notify customers of changes in promise times
• Inform customers of future maintenance needs
• Perform active delivery of finished vehicles, with through explanation of work, and charges
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures
• Produce quality work that evidence pride of workmanship
• Explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as required

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid TDL
• Clean driving record
• Pass drug test
• Two year minimum experience (optional/dep. on hiring manager)
