Job summary

Briarwood Ford, Inc. is seeking a Service Advisor to welcome customers, listen to their needs, and schedule service appointments at our Michigan dealership. You will coordinate loaners, verify insurance, and communicate clearly with customers throughout the service process.

This role emphasizes strong customer service, product knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in cost estimates and invoices. Previous Ford dealership experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a Ford service department.
• Knowledge of automobiles.
• Proven record of achieving customer satisfaction.
• Ability to learn new programs and repair procedures.
• Personal and professional integrity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly.
• Obtain customer and vehicle information.
• Clearly report vehicle symptoms as described by the customer.
• Determine and recommend maintenance based on age, mileage and history.
• Prepare an estimate for labor and parts.
• Establish follow-up time.
• Monitor progress and update customers frequently.
• Verify that the final invoice matches the work performed.
• Explain all completed work and charges to customers.

Service Advisor Responsibilities:

• Greet customers promptly
• Obtain customer and vehicle information
• Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer
• Determine and recommend maintenance base on age, mileage and history of vehicle
• Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts
• Establish follow up time
• Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and update customers frequently
• Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order
• Explain all completed work and charges to customers

Service Advisor Requirements:

• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction
• Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant
• Very energetic personality
• A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization
• Personal and professional integrity
• Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Minimum of 1 year in service department
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent
